These materials date from the fifteenth century to the present. The Portal’s mission is to provide free online access to Texas history materials to be used by researchers, educators, students, and the public.

Newspapers
Due to the nature of newspaper collections, we hear from people year-round who reach out to us for help. Instead of offering a once-per-year Rescuing Texas History award for newspapers, we will speak with you at any time about digitizing your newspaper collection, either through a pilot project or by helping you apply for grant funds. If you have a newspaper collection you’d like to add to The Portal to Texas History, please email ana.krahmer@unt.edu.
