First Chair Chats

The UNT Music Library periodically presents the First Chair Chats series, a Digital Music Collective at UNT Libraries focused on discussions that are reshaping the music landscape today and tomorrow. Special guests from music pedagogy, production, protection, and preservation join the UNT Music Library staff in exploring some major changes on the horizon, and how each group is responding to these new opportunities. Music Cataloging Institute

The UNT Music Library hosts a Music Cataloging Institute each summer. This week-long, intensive program is conducted face-to-face and includes seminar-style instruction and hands-on practice. Both beginning music catalogers and out-of-practice catalogers seeking a refresher on music cataloging could benefit from this interactive, immersive experience. Space is limited to 10 registrants. Music Librarianship Interest Tea

Each year the UNT Music Library hosts an informational tea for music librarianship students and students interested in learning about careers in music librarianship. During this informal event students will meet the UNT Music Library staff and learn about opportunities in the music librarianship profession. Press Start

“Press Start!” is a symposia series that aims to bring together ludomusicology scholars, video game music industry professionals, and those interested in video game music and video game music history. These symposia feature scholarly paper and poster presentations, interviews with scholars and industry professionals, and panel discussions on different topics in the video game music industry and ludomusicology. The “Press Start!” symposia series has included “’Press Start!’: A Video Game Music Symposium,” and “’Play Again?’: An Online Mini-Symposium,” an online symposium.
