Thanks to the following granting agencies for their generous support of our digital projects:
Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS)
An IMLS National Leadership Grant for Advancing Digital Resources. For
this project, the UNT Libraries, together with the Networked Digital
Library of Theses and Dissertations, the Educopia Institute/MetaArchive
Cooperative, and the libraries of Virginia Tech, Rice University, Boston
College, Indiana State University, Pennsylvania State University, and
the University of Arizona will develop and share a toolkit of
guidelines, educational materials, and a set of software tools for
life-cycle data management and preservation of electronic theses and
dissertations (ETDs).
National Endowment for the Humanities
A We the People grant to the UNT Libraries for the National Digital
Newspaper Program (NDNP), “Chronicling America: Historic American
Newspapers.” The Library of Congress serves as the technical advisor
for the NDNP. The award funds digitization of Texas historical
newspapers, and for the grant UNT serves as lead institution with our
partners at the Dolph Briscoe Center for American History at the
University of Texas.
National Endowment for the Humanities
A We the People grant to the Oklahoma Historical Society and the UNT
Libraries for the National Digital Newspaper Program (NDNP),
“Chronicling America: Historic American Newspapers.” The award funds
digitization of Oklahoma historical newspapers, and for the grant UNT
serves as technical advisor for its partners at the Oklahoma Historical
Society.
Summerlee Foundation
Grant to the UNT Libraries and the UNT History Department for “Digital
Austin Papers.”
Texas State Library and Archives Commission
The UNT Libraries and the Dolph Briscoe Center for American History at
UT Austin have received a TexTreasures grant for “Early Texas Newspapers
III,” a grant to digitize and provide free public access to the earliest
Texas newspapers held by the Center for American History. See the

Tocker Foundation
Grants to digitize historical newspaper issues:
- The Bastrop Advertiser & County News, in partnership with the Bastrop Public Library. See the Bastrop Advertiser collection.
