Diane Bruxvoort has joined us as Dean of Libraries. She was formerly the Libraries, Special Collections and Museums University Librarian and director at the University of Aberdeen in Scotland. In addition, she has worked at the University of Florida, the University of Houston, the Houston Public Library, the Harris County Public Library, and the Newberry Library – Chicago’s Independent Research Library.

When asked what she would like to share with Library employees, Diane replied, “I am excited to be joining the team at the UNT. It might seem like quite a change from Aberdeen, Scotland, but academic libraries are much the same around the world, and have been my work home for many years now. I’m not new to Texas, having lived and worked in Austin and then Houston, and I’m finding that North Texas is much the same – great people who care about their work. I look forward to meeting each of you, and together setting strategic directions as to how we support our students and faculty in their learning and their research.”
